When Jennifer Petoff graduated from the University of Rochester with a double degree in Chemistry and Psychology, she had no inkling that she would one day be training publishers to use online ad serving tools. A graduate degree in the sciences combined with a variety of volunteer experiences led her down a non-traditional path. This talk will discuss the author’s evolution from a PhD in polymer chemistry and a career at the lab bench to a role as a technical trainer at Google. The importance of volunteer opportunities, a focus on transferable skills, and a broad professional network to break into a new career area will be emphasized.
This opportunity is for undergraduate and master’s students only. Registration is required - Visit Duke eRecruiting to register.
